James Lovegrove

James has extensive experience in designing and leading trips for international school students. After graduating from Massey University with a degree in education, he taught in New Zealand for 5 years. He then moved to Yokohama International School in Japan and loved the experience of working with international students and the IB curriculum. After 2 years in Japan, James moved to Singapore to lead the Outdoor Education Department at United World College of South East Asia. Here, based on the philosophies of Kurt Hahn (the founder of UWC and of Outward Bound), he designed and delivered trips for international students to locations all round the world. These include; Malaysia, Tioman Island, Chiang Mai in Thailand, Swaziland, South Africa, Western Australia, Borneo, Kota Kinabalu and of course New Zealand.

James is a proud New Zealander and wants to share New Zealand’s beauty and fun with international students. He has been designing and leading New Zealand adventures for 13 years. In 2006 he returned home to New Zealand to live, and to take up the position of Director of Operations for Little Brown Kiwi. James lives in Whangamata on the East Coast of New Zealand with his wife and three daughters.
