In the South Island we use a variety of coach companies. We always ensure that the vehicles we use have comfortable seats that allow for great viewing of the spectacular scenery. Driver/vehicle safety is our absolute priority when selecting a bus company.

A support vehicle usually travels with each trip. This is to ensure, in the event of an emergency, immediate evacuation is possible from any location.

From time to time, because of group size or the nature of an activity, we may also travel in minibuses. Experienced LBK staff will drive these.

Other transport could include boats, yachts and trains.

An optional feature of the Southern Compass trip is a coast-to-coast trip on the Trans Alpine Express. Crossing the Southern Alps from the west coast to the east, this train trip is rated as one of the best “10 Train Trips” in the world.
